With increasing uncertainty, complexity and competition the requirement for solution statements rise, in particular for decision makers in enterprises and organisations. By Scenario Management we understand the integration of methods for handling uncertainty (future-open thinking), complexity (system thinking) and competition (strategic thinking). Scenario Management includes the development of scenarios as well as their use within strategic planning and strategic early warning.Our corporate target is to impart the necessity of thinking in scenarios to decision makers and to make the instruments of Scenario Management accessible to them. In this process, we follow several principles:
- The fundamental knowledge about future is available in the company. The objective of Scenario Management is therefore the development of this knowledge.
- The controversy of the future should be creative as well as replicable. Hence Scenario Management combines both - the design and the craft of foresight.
- The instruments which are used at Scenario Management are specified to the appropriate situation. There exist no "one size fits all" solution.
