ScMI business areas
Independent futurology is not profitable for companies and organisation as well as for short-dated strategies. Therefore, it is necessary to think about ‘strategic futures’ and ‘sustainable strategies’. The ScMI AG connects these factors towards a modern corporate governance and offers propositions for project implementation and process design.
For the development of Scenario management we are focussed on four topics, for which we develop industry broadening solutions:
- Scenario development covers the systematic and purposeful development of company, business, market, industry product and technology scenarios.
- Strategy development contains the development of realistic strategies, which are not focused on fixed expectations or ideals about the future, but at the entire space of possibilities. This covers corporate, company and business unit strategies as well as product, technology and innovation strategies.
- Strategic early warning contains the identification and processing of future-relevant trend developments. It covers the admission and structuring of future information, trend management and scenario monitoring as well as a systematic reporting for decision support.
- Strategic planning and management connects strategy implementation and strategic controlling with the initialisation and coaching of strategic change processes. If this process is linked with the strategic early warning, one can be called strategic forecast.
The application of these topic fields takes place on two levels: ‘Management Consulting’ as well as ‘Business Innovation and Technology’. In this respect three main application fields for scenarios result: (1) strategy development, (2) strategic early warning and (3) the technology and innovation management.

On the whole, ScMI AG may be considered more a professional tutor for the methodology than a trend scout or a thematic expert. All these propositions are available as workshops and training courses regarding Szenario-Management™. Otherwise it is possible to organise an open workshop or an inhouse workshop. The ScMI AG has a future knowledge in global surroundings a company needs if they want to think outside the box.
