Wissensfabrik supports „Jugend forscht“ awardee

For the second time, the Wissensfabrik and this year’s sponsor B. Braun have awarded the start-up entrepreneurship prize in the competition "Jugend forscht". At this year’s annual forum in Moschen, Koblenz born entrepreneur Danilo Gavronov, received the prestigious first prize.

The 19-year-old is to be given the opportunity to professionally realize his research project "My Food My Order - Order as You Want". The initiative started two years ago under the patronage of the Wissenschaftsfabrik and the Stiftung Jugend forscht e.V.

The Wissensfabrik is a network that promotes education and entrepreneurial thinking and action in Germany. The prize is awarded annually and every year another member of the Wissensfabrik is awarding the prize. Along with the award comes a B. Braun mentorship for Mr. Gavronov who has developed a digital ordering system that enables guests of a restaurant to individually filter food and drinks according to their ingredients and preferences, and to order and pay for their selection online.

All the final participants were awarded with an entrepreneurial prize on the different regional Jugend forscht competitions. From all these regional award winners, a jury around ScMI board member Dr. Andreas Siebe, selected the best idea. He was awarded at the Knowledge Factory Forum, which was attended by about 180 members of the German-wide network at B. Braun Melsungen AG in Morschen.
"About one percent of all young researchers file a patent based on their research results. With respect to this, the Jugend forscht award on Entrepreneurship is an extremely significant and pioneering prize in terms of promoting research and entrepreneurial spirit. The outstanding benefit of this entrepreneurial prize is particular the professional mentorship that provides sustainable impetus to make the way from an idea to a economically viable innovation, "explained Dr. Nico Kock, Member of the Foundation Board Jugend forscht e.V.
