Furniture design between classicism and modernity - that was the theme of the 7th Becker- Designer-Meeting organized by Becker Brakel on the occasion of their 80th jubilee.
Managing Director Dr. Ralf Becker welcomed 70 designers at the Schloss Gehrden. The aim of the event was to initiate an exchange on the newest developments in the field of bentwood technology as well as in the furniture market.
Numerous well-known speakers such as Bettina Billerbeck, chief editor of "Schöner Wohnen", or Rolf Hay, founder of the Danish desgin brand HAY, ensured an exciting program and atmosphere. Dr. Andreas Siebe tried to give an outlook on the answer to the question on "How will we live in the future?" Among other things, he presented the results of the eponymous scenario study that was carried out by ScMI together with the association of the wood and furniture industry. The expert meeting was moderated by Prof. Dr. Elena Wachs. After the meeting, the designers were able to participate at guided company tours to gather new impressions.
