It will be ten years since the ScMI AG started operating. It has its origin in the 90’s when Dr. Alexander Fink, Dr. Andreas Siebe and Dr. Oliver Schlake
developed the Scenario-Management at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute (a research center within the University of Paderborn) and applied it to their first industrial projects. In 1995 the first well-founded publication titeled “Scenario-Management –Planen und Führen mit Scenarien” followed. In 1998 the ScMI AG was finally founded as corporation for future planning and strategic management by 22 shareholders -among them numerous renowned top executives from distinct lines of business. Since then the ScMI AG -being one of the market leaders in the field of development and application of scenarios- supports companies and organisations in creating visionary strategies as well as in designing strategic leadership and early recognition processes and putting them into practice.
The company’s history will hit its peak on the 13th of Mai 2009 when the ScMI AG arranges the 6th International Conference on Scenario Management. The event will take place in the Heinz Nixdorf Museums Forum (the world’s biggest computer museum) where the ScMI AG is rooted. In the course of the conference themed “Scenarios – yesterday, today, tomorrow” both the success of former scenario projects and methodical reforms will be focused on. The ScMI AG will welcome representatives from (among others) Bayer, BMW, Rheinmetall and Shell as well as from the German Armed Forces and the Bertelsmann-Stiftung as speakers.
