The future of transportation of people and goods
Within a global economy and a dynamic world the requirements for transportation, shipping and logistics are constantly increasing. There exist a demand for pure transportation as well as for security, comfort, flexibility and sustainability - at possibly low costs. The growth of the transport of goods is commonly forecasted to be 30 percent until 2020. Therefore several questions arise: Which relevance will mobility have for every-day-life in the future? How does urbanisation influence our mobility concepts? How will the modal split look like? What might threaten the global flow of commodities? What is the interdependency between transport and environment?
