Scenario-workshop in Cairo

On July 18th, ScMI provided its first scenario-workshop in Egypt in co-operation with its partner firm CORPORATE CLIENT, a 2010 established consulting company from Cairo.

The workshop took place at the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC) with participants from several industries like Automotive, Electrical household appliances, food, plastic, tourism and urban development.
Within its introduction, Dr. Alexander Fink explained the need for future-open thinking and the basics of the Scenario-Management-approach. After the presentation of the methodology of scenario development, the participants developed small scenarios for their own use cases. ScMI’s part of the workshop was finalized by a vivid explanation on how to come from alternative scenarios to clear strategic decisions.

The second part of the workshop included an introduction into strategy maps and a specific approach of CORPORATE CLINIC to measure complexity within an organisation. After a second exercise, Dr. Tarek Safwat explained the way from planning to execution.

An overall positive feedback on the workshop was given to the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which since sixty five years is promoting bilateral business relations between Egypt, North Africa, the Middle East and Germany. Representing more than 2700 member companies GACIC is the largest organisation in the framework of business cooperation between Germany and the Arab world. GACIC plays a pivotal role in Egyptian and German business cooperation. The Chamber has become one of the most innovative providers of services for German Arab trade.
