Discussion of ScMI scenarios at the German-African Business Association
For the sixth time, the conference "Managing Risk in Africa" was hosted by the German-African Business Association at the AKA-Bank in Frankfurt. In addition to the updated information on security issues and political risks, the event also involved an active exchange between the participating companies, security experts, and government representatives.
Experiences were shared in various workshops and attention was drawn to available instruments and expertise in risk management.
The conference was opened with a panel discussion on "Managing Political and Economic Risks in Africa", which was also attended by Dr. Alexander Fink, member of the board at ScMI AG. First, He briefly presented the scenario study of the ScMI on the future of Africa (Szenariostudie der ScMI zur Zukunft Afrikas) before discussing the variety of follow-up questions. One of the most striving questions was how companies and governments in Africa can make use of the scenario management approach to better hedge against uncertain environmental conditions.
