Presentation of Tourism Scenarios at World Heritage Conference in Romania
The 10th International Conference of Cultural Tourism in Europe took place from 20 September to 21 September 2017 in Sibiu, Romania. Central topics were the development of cultural values, diversity and cultural heritage as well as innovation and creativity concerning the development of sustainable tourism.
Dr. Alexander Fink, member of ScMI’s executive board, was invited in order to present scenarios of the future of tourism in this international context. In his speech, he presented these eight alternative pictures of the future and outlined strategies as a reaction to these future developments for destinations and their touristic players. p>
The conference was organised by the European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) which is a unique pan-european network for cultural tourism. Members of the ECTN are not only touristic players and public institutions, but also NGOs and research centers. Right now, the ECTN has 29 members from 19 countries, 13 stemming from EU-cpuntries and 6 from associated ones.
